Our Unique Philosophy

The philosophy of South Metro Montessori addresses the total child: developing skills, emotional growth, physical coordination, and cognitive preparation within a beautiful and thoughtfully designed environment. The classroom is prepared with a wealth of quality and complex materials, selected and designed to meet the needs of the individual children it serves. There is a range of materials, in a variety and level of development, to allow children to progress through the curriculum as their skills develop. Typical areas include: Practical Life, Math, Language, Art, Sensorial, Music, Geography, Science, Creative Dramatics and Movement.

Our Guiding Tenets

The Ideologies that guide South Metro Montessori is a blend of Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Nature Based learning practices. Children are supported and encouraged to pursue independence and to be active members of the school community. A school community, where curiosity and wonderment are common practices to the daily life.

The Intentions of South Metro Montessori Educators is to nurture each child’s innate curiosity and love for learning, while supporting the development of deep thinking, personal responsibility, empathy for others, and a confident, resilient sense of self. We honor the child as a capable, competent individual and provide an environment that encourages exploration, collaboration and meaningful work.
